Guests say

The Nuke is a well-received cottage in Weymouth, Dorset, praised for its excellent location near the harbour and its secure parking. Guests appreciate the clean, comfortable, and well-equipped property, though some minor maintenance issues are noted. The welcome pack is a delightful touch, although its presence is not consistent.

Guests consistently report the cottage as clean and tidy, with one mentioning it appeared spotless, as if they were the first visitors. The high standard of cleanliness contributes positively to the overall experience.

The location is highly praised for being close to the harbour, restaurants, and bars, with easy access to the town and beach. The secure parking is frequently mentioned as a significant advantage.

The property is generally found to be comfortable and cosy, with some guests finding the beds and sofas to their liking. However, there are a few reports of uncomfortable beds and sofas, which suggests room for improvement.

The cottage is well-equipped, but there are several mentions of minor issues such as problems with the washing machine, bath, and shower. These are balanced by positive comments on the decor and amenities.

While some guests mention a welcome pack, others note its absence, indicating inconsistency. As gifts are not guaranteed and not all reviews reference them, a score cannot be accurately provided.

About this property

Previously providing the stables for the brewery horses in Weymouth, Nuke and it's surrounding properties have now been renovated into pretty mews-style houses, ideal for a holiday getaway with your loved ones. The traditional tone is set with a wonderful stable front door, from which you enter into the modern open-plan dining and living room area, that is great for relaxing in front of the TV after a busy day exploring Weymouth. Going through to the kitchen, you will find it fully equipped with everything you need to create some delicious meals using the gas hob and electric oven, and why not soak up as much of the sun as possible by taking things outside and chilling on the front decking. Upstairs are two delightfully bright bedrooms, the master having an en-suite, and the second being a cosy twin bedroom, with the family bathroom across the way containing a corner bath, fantastic for some pamper time. Located in the Brewers Quay and harbour area of Weymouth, this mews house is less than five minutes' walk from Weymouth's historic harbourside, where you can enjoy fresh fish and chips as the boats float by. Newton's Cove beach and the Nothe Gardens are both only a few minutes' walk away, so this is the ideal house for parking up the car in the secure parking, and getting around on foot. Weymouth’s golden sand beach and shallow waters are around a 15-minute walk, or why not take a short row across the harbour in the row boat ferry. No trip to the beach is complete without an ice cream and there are plenty of incredible local ice creams to try! Nuke would suit a couple seeking a romantic seaside retreat or a small family wanting to have fun on the beaches.

Having a secure car space a bonus. Mins from beach good. The king-size bed was really comfortable. The shower was hot and ample size. Seating is looking a little out of shape but was comfy . The amazing happy hamper left for us was a great touch and well received plus the fresh milk. Would come back again

We could hear whole conversation by neighbours and hear neighbour being sick in shower every morning. Not pleasant. Needed more hand towels Needed more than one tea towel for a week Greater choice of drinking glasses needed (high balls) for gin, etc. Kitchen supplies are quite basic. Ironing board is wobbly, almost unsafe. There is significant building work at the back of the mews. Guests should be warned about this on considering booking. I note building noise has been an issue before in a review. We reported a couple of maintenance issues do they could be fixed for future guests. This resulted in property management company entering the property whilst we were out, without asking/letting us know. We came back one evening to find things had been moved in some places.

Exactly as described and shown in the photos. Comfortable and felt right at home. Literally a minutes walk to the harbour area. Parking on site is a bonus and we went the whole week without using the car. Only 1 small thing which was a bit annoying was the property next door was having work done so could hear sawing and banging early in the morning. However, I appreciate this is beyond the control of the owners and would not put us off staying there again. Luckily weather was good enough for us to be out all day.
