Stepping Stones is a quaint cottage in a beautiful, quiet village in Dorset, appreciated for its seclusion and well-equipped nature. While some guests look forward to returning, others have noted issues with cleanliness and maintenance that need addressing.
Several reviews mention a lack of cleanliness, including unclean bedding and a general state of neglect. There was also a mention of an unpleasant smell. These issues suggest significant room for improvement.
The cottage is praised for its beautiful and quiet village location. However, there are discrepancies regarding proximity to the beach and local amenities, such as the pub being closed, which affects the overall score.
There is insufficient information on the comfort of the cottage, such as the quality of the beds or seating, to provide a score.
Guests have reported that the cottage is well-equipped, but there are also numerous complaints about broken appliances and a need for maintenance and TLC, indicating that the facilities could be significantly improved.
There are no mentions of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the hosts, so this category cannot be scored.
The ever-popular village of Langton Herring is ideally placed as a base for touring the Jurassic Coast, with the pebble swathes of Chesil beach and Fleet lagoon less than 1.5 miles away. Known as a Doubly Thankful Village, as all men returned from both World Wars, this idyllic spot is home to a well-regarded pub and is surrounded by unspoilt countryside, with walking trails aplenty. Whatever the season you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to planning days out. Within 25 miles there are a plethora of popular attractions to explore, including charming Abbotsbury, the historic Quay in Weymouth, Nothe Fort, the rugged Isle of Purbeck, West Bexington, Burton Bradstock, Portland Bill, West Bay and Lyme Regis.
As the name suggests, this property has several changes of level adding to its quirky appeal. A private entrance door leads into the open plan lounge/diner where you will step up into this welcoming space. To your right is the dining area with wood burner and a step to the left will take you to the comfortable lounge area, complete with Smart TV. Heading further into the property, step up into the kitchen, which has country style units and access into the bathroom. When the day is done, take the stairs up to the first floor, where you'll find the two bedrooms, one of which has a double bed set against the wall on one side and the other is also a double, with its own en-suite shower room.
Heading outside via the kitchen. there is a split-level garden to be enjoyed. With old stone walls and steps leading up to a paved seating area, this is the perfect spot for al fresco dining or your morning coffee. Please note the patio is not enclosed, therefore care should be taken.
