Cook in the kitchen area, which has everything you’ll need including a coffee machine for your morning cuppa. Head back downstairs to the two bedrooms, a cosy king-size with a Smart TV and en-suite shower room, and a pretty twin zip-and-link, which can be made up as a king-size bed on request, along with another shower room. Outside at the front is a pup-friendly enclosed garden with a private hot tub for relaxing in the evening, a BBQ and space to enjoy al fresco drinks and meals.

For family fun, head to Beechenhurst (3 miles) to Go Ape, visit the underground caverns at Clearwell Caves (7.5 miles), and explore the magical woodland at Puzzlewood (7.5 miles). Wildlife lovers will want to wander the nature reserves at the Dean Heritage Centre (4 miles), and you can explore the Forest of Dean by bike on the 9-mile Colliers Trail which starts at Cannop Cycle Centre (4 miles). For something more sedate, take a ride on a steam train at Perrygrove Railway (7 miles).
