Oak Lodge in Longhope offers a tranquil retreat with spacious and clean accommodation. Guests appreciate the peaceful setting, comfortable lodgings, and the proximity to local attractions and walks. While some minor maintenance issues and a lack of information on local amenities were noted, the overall experience is highly regarded, with many guests recommending the property for a relaxing stay.
The lodge is consistently described as clean and well-presented, with guests feeling at home straight away. Occasional comments on dust and the need for more thorough checks do not significantly detract from the overall positive perception of cleanliness.
The location is praised for its quietness and suitability for walking and visiting nearby towns. However, some guests were disappointed by the closure of the local pub and the inaccurate listing regarding its distance, slightly affecting the score.
Guests find the lodge comfortable, with spacious rooms and a relaxing environment. The presence of free wifi compensates for the lack of phone signal, and the overall comfort level is high, despite isolated comments about bedding and noise.
While the lodge is generally well-equipped, several reviews mention issues with appliances and a lack of instructions, which suggests room for improvement in ensuring all facilities are in working order and clearly explained for guests.
There are mentions of a welcoming bottle of wine and milk, suggesting a degree of thoughtfulness. However, as not all reviews reference such gestures and to ensure no false expectations, it cannot be guaranteed that such gifts will always be provided.

The lodge was everything we wanted and as advertised. Lovely local pubs. Places of interest a little further to go, but worth the extra drive, just to stay in such a lovely place. Thank you.

Lovely location and great food in the pub Alison and staff made us welcome and couldnât ask for more a lovely holiday.

An absolute gem. The lodge is light and airy with all the facilities you could ask for. The location is in a lovely quiet, quaint, quintessential English hamlet! With walks in the woods directly behind the lodge and and a lovely English pub on your doorstep (although we didn't get to eat there - I would recommend booking ahead of your visit). We are definitely considering going back.
