Guests say

Guests have praised 'The Carriage' for its helpful hosts, beautiful garden, and stunning views. The property offers a comfortable and well-equipped stay, with a convenient location close to local attractions. While most reviews highlight cleanliness and comfort, a few guests noted areas for improvement. The thoughtful touches, such as welcome gifts, have been well-received, although these are not guaranteed for every stay.

The majority of guests found the property to be very clean and comfortable. However, a few reviews mentioned the need for a deeper clean in certain areas, such as around the toilet and the presence of cobwebs and spiders, which slightly impacted the overall cleanliness score.

The location is frequently described as perfect, with proximity to local attractions like Puzzlewood, steam trains, and caves. The presence of a nearby Tesco adds convenience. The scenic views and wildlife sightings contribute to a high location score, despite mentions of a busy road.

Guests consistently report that the property is warm, cosy, and offers a comfortable stay with good quality beds and a well-stocked kitchen. The comfort of the property is a highlight in the reviews, suggesting a high level of satisfaction in this category.

The property is well-regarded for its modern amenities, well-equipped kitchen, and powerful shower. The garden and views are appreciated, and the property is considered a gem for a holiday stay. Some guests suggest minor modernisation and maintenance could enhance the facilities further.

The hosts' thoughtfulness is evident through mentions of welcome gifts and the hosts' attentiveness. While these gestures are greatly appreciated by guests, it is politely noted that such gifts are a bonus and may not be a standard offering for all stays.

Although warned about the steep stairs, we should have thought about the logistics of letting our 2 dogs out. We had to harness and put leads on and even had to carry one dog down as the steps were too steep and scared him, every time they needed to go out. I would not recommend the upstairs apt with dogs, a ground floor is much easier. Having to travel by car to get anywhere was a bit of a bind but doable. We found on touring around that many places closed on 1 September, which was very early in the season and limiting to holiday makers. It was a very pleasant stay but sadly one I wouldn't repeat due to the above mentioned.

The view was also captivating and we were excited to see a wild boar family on a couple of occasions - we will miss the view and the sight and sound of the cows in the field. The Carriage was a lovely base from which to explore the many attractions in the area, we spent quite a lot of time in Wales with it being so close. Thanks to Elaine and Doug for providing such a very nice base for our week - we plan to return!

Extremely well maintained and stocked, comfortable, high-quality bed linen etc. Host very communicative and understanding. Beautiful garden - wish we'd have had more time to enjoy it. Thank you so much.
