The local council use a 4x4 pickup for refuse collections and vehicles fly past the front door to ascend the hill. The overall impression of the property is that it is in need of a lot of improvement and tlc, very tired. Wall lights in the lounge that have no apparent switches to turn them on, eventually discovering the dining area light switch is above the window ! The bedroom with 2 single beds having only a light switch by the door, table lamps by the beds but no switches to operate them apart from the socket switches behind the beds ! So having to use a torch or phone light once having switched off the room light ! On the subject of lighting, virtually no lighting on the stairs, cannot be passed off as " quaint querkiness" , it's just bad ! All rooms poorly cleaned with cobwebs and fossilized insects in every corner. On trying to use the ensuite shower the door hinges fell apart. Finding the bathroom shower had a broken bracket for the handset so it could not be held up, then on operation water was running through the lounge ceiling and down the stairs newel post ! This property should not be available until it's had a through sort out.

As we were 2 couples, the 2 bathrooms and 2 sittingrooms were very convenient! Plenty of china and cooking utensils with a beautifull farm ranger. The woodburningstove is very nice but we had to buy logs, there is a corner at the parkingplace with some wood but we couldn’t use it. In the morning , we had breakfast in the conservatory with the early sun, lovely! Many footpaths for walking direct from the house, surrounded by beautiful hills.

Most importantly, the listing suggests an occupancy of six but seating in the conservatory doesn’t really allow six. Outside, one of the chairs was broken, as was the washing line. The bed in the master bedroom could have been better and the showers really need new doors. For the rest, we loved the house for its charm and the top floor seating area with tv and excellent WiFi.
