The lock on the door from the car park was stiff and someone snapped their key in it . The cental heating wouldn't come on one evening, after reporting it to the office who told us somebody might have turned something off by mistake. It was a very noisy week constant banging with work being carried out underneath us . It advertised a washer/dryer but only a washer was available. The sofa looked good but it has had its day, it was so uncomfortable. The shower could be updated and overall the apartment is very dated . The large patio windows were dirty and should really be cleaned if it's being let out . However the guy who met us there had done a good job on cleaning it . Thank you. Helen Vaughan.

It is also very spacious. It was great to have a secure space for parking under the building. Sadly, there were many negatives which did not meet our expectations for a penthouse. The patio doors were very hard to open & close and were not water tight. The sofa & chair are not at all comfortable; very low & difficult to get up from. The dining chairs are too low for the table. The kitchen is very compact & there’s no storage space for items not belonging in the fridge like bread, tins etc. The shower, being electric, is feeble & inconsistent in temperature. The shower head kept falling off the holder. There was not enough hot water for a bath. The building itself and the surrounding ‘block’ are very run down. There is still scaffolding but there were not any workmen all week. The hallway on our floor had a hole in the ceiling & a rotten windowsill and skirting board. Many issues are down to a maintenance company or companies, however, the penthouse really needs a lot of TLC to be fantastic.

I have been meaning to send a review for a few weeks now but haven't had a chance. Above everything else I have to say that the bed is the comfiest bed I have slept in for a long time. I brought my mum to Devon for a week so having a spacious two bedroom apartment was essential and meant that whilst I had the master bedroom with ensuite my mum had a more than comfortable sized double size bedroom and the main bathroom with her own bath. ( I have seen a review suggesting that there was not enough hot water for a bath which was not the case during our stay ). We enjoyed having the option to eat breakfast out on the balcony area in addition to a well sized dining table. We were out most nights wether it be to dine or socialise but it was nice to come back to a large comfortable sofa and a smart TV to recline before bed. I also loved that the lift outside the door took you straight down to the underground secure parking and the allocated parking space is actually the space next to the car park entrance from the lift. So very handy ! The apartment is also around a 10/15 minute walk to The Hoe and The Barbican which was perfect for our stay. The views from the apartment are phenomenal. There is also a handy little one stop shop over the road for day to day bits. I have read some comments regarding scaffolding and maintenance issues that were present when we were there but it is clear that this is a maintenance issue relating to the building and not the apartment itself and can easily be avoided by using the lift therefore it didn't affect our stay. Thank you for a lovely stay in your beautiful apartment. John & Carol
