The Hermitage is a charming cottage in the picturesque village of Nunney, appreciated for its tranquil garden, proximity to the castle, and as a peaceful base for exploring Somerset. Guests have enjoyed the cosy atmosphere, modern kitchen, and the thoughtful welcome basket, although some noted areas for improvement.
Reviews indicate a generally high standard of cleanliness, with the property being described as 'immaculately clean' and 'very clean'. However, some guests reported issues with dust, a fusty smell, and unclean kitchenware, suggesting room for improvement.
The location is highly praised for its beauty and convenience, with the cottage being situated next to Nunney Castle and within easy reach of local amenities and attractions. The village's charm and the property's central position for outings are consistently highlighted as positives.
Many guests found the cottage cosy and the beds comfortable, with extra blankets and a wood burner for warmth. However, some guests mentioned that the seating was not very comfortable for four adults and that the property could be damp and cold at times.
The cottage is well-equipped with modern kitchen appliances and a welcome basket. Nevertheless, guests have suggested the addition of a washer/dryer, better lighting, and improvements to the bathroom facilities. Some maintenance issues, such as a broken window handle and the need for a shower screen, were also noted.
Guests have expressed appreciation for the welcome basket, which added a thoughtful touch to their stay. It is important to note that such gifts, while enjoyed by some, may not be a consistent offering for all guests.
