This historic, stone-fronted cottage boasts a 200-year-old history but has been thoughtfully renovated with a welcoming interior sleeping six guests in four well-appointed bedrooms; the perfect setting for families or friends looking to explore Somerset with your beloved canine companion. Cross the threshold and kick off your shoes ahead of making use of the fully-equipped kitchen to prepare a hearty meal for the whole group. Dine together in the dining room where you can sample the culinary creation by the gentle warmth of the electric flame-effect stove; or if the sun is shining step outside to the rear garden to enjoy dinner alfresco upon the garden furniture. Toast your getaway with a glass of wine as the stars begin to fill the sky then head inside and climb the stairs to wash off the day in the sleek bathroom, ready to slope off to sleep in one of four bedrooms. Choose between a double with TV, perfect for lazy mornings, a double or two singles. Shepton Mallet, a town rich in history, is a charming blend of the old and the new, with its beautiful ancient buildings and weekly market, as well as its many contemporary restaurants and stores. Between the smaller towns of Evercreech and Doulting, in the Mendip foothills, you'll find the town of Shepton Mallet. It's a stunning area filled with interesting sights and fun things to do for people of all ages. One of the largest agricultural exhibitions in Britain takes place at the Royal Bath and West Showground in Shepton Mallet in May/June, and the venue hosts a wide variety of other events throughout the year. Wells, Glastonbury, and Bath are all within a half-hour drive, and there are several family-friendly activities, such as Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole Caves, and the East Somerset Railway, within the same distance. You'd be hard-pressed to find a better holiday location, especially since the delicious local cider is the perfect beverage to unwind with after a day of touring this area of Somerset.
