Escape with your loved ones to this 17th-century stone cottage tucked away in the heart of the Somerset countryside. Sleeping four people across two bedrooms, it’s an ideal country hideaway for small families or groups of friends in search of a home away from home while they explore the Mendip Hills together. Head off to explore the stunning limestone cliffs and caves of Cheddar Gorge (7.5 miles). Climb the steep slopes and hike up Jacob’s Ladder to take in the breathtaking views. Alternatively, grab your hiking boots and head to Glastonbury Tor (9 miles) to explore the ruins of Glastonbury Abbey. Walk up the tor for 360-degree views and visit the abbey to learn about its rich history and possible connection to King Arthur.
Park your car in the private parking area and head to this impressive, luxurious, Mendip stone cottage for a very special holiday to remember. Quality furnishings and gadgets throughout ensure a comfortable stay, with a mix of dark painted walls, exposed stone, old beams, and flagstone flooring all adding to the beauty of this property. Step inside and you’ll be greeted by a lovely rustic-style interior that boasts characterful stone walls and exposed beams. Settle on the sofa and make yourself at home, or head to the chic, contemporary kitchen to whip up dinner. L-shaped seating around an antique wooden dining table offers plenty of space to eat together, and afterwards, pour a glass of wine and warm your toes by the contemporary, crackling wood burner. At the end of the day, rest and reset in one of the two elegant king-size bedrooms. You’ll find the first bedroom next to the living room, while upstairs you’ll find the master bedroom. Completing the layout is a chic bathroom with a rainfall shower to rejuvenate your senses, day or night.
Outside, you’ll find a private veranda with lovely garden views, and a heated outdoor seating area. On the wider estate, you’ll find a range of excellent features that all make for a truly wonderful stay. Take advantage of the on-site shared state-of-the-art gym, indoor 20-metre heated pool, sauna and steam room, and luxury changing room. Simply relax in the shared areas or explore the 18 acres of grounds, complete with woodland walks to roam. Finally, we can’t forget to mention the owners’ adorable pigmy goats, who have their own bridge and sunken trampoline in their enclosure and are a real delight! There is ample private parking available.
