This luxurious lodge, which is one of four identical properties rests amidst open countryside, gazing idyllically over the Somerset levels with spectacular views of Glastonbury Tor. Just a mile outside the village of Wedmore, Owl Lodge offers a tranquil escape for families and couples looking to experience the beauty of Somerset. The focal point of the property is the open-plan living area, boasting a fully fitted kitchen, with light flooding in from bi-folding doors that bring the outdoors in. Serve the fruits of your labour at the dining table or take the evening outside to the patio furniture, providing an idyllic countryside backdrop whilst you tuck into a home-cooked dish. After a long day, retire on the sumptuous sofa and catch up on your favourite shows from the Smart TV or take advantage of the outdoor hot tub as you soothe your muscles with a long soak. There are three wonderful bedrooms at this rural retreat; upstairs there is a king-size room with an en-suite, while downstairs there is a king-size and children's bunk bedroom which share a fully fitted wet room. To the outside and at one end of the garden fence are Percy, Albert and Jeffrey the alpacas, and Minnie and Dottie the miniature horses. Set within a rural location, with amazing views of the surrounding countryside, you’ll make the most of fantastic walks or cycle rides in the immediate area. Ramble through the Somerset levels, Mendip Hills and Polden Hills or take a scenic drive up to the stunning Cheddar Gorge where you can see cathedral-like caves home to 9000 years of human history. Family days out to Puxton Adventure Park, Longleat Safari Park, Brean Leisure Park and Brean Water Park are recommended, or why not have some fun at Cheddar Crazy Golf while you’re there and visit The Cheddar Gorge Cheese Company for a cheese souvenir from the birthplace of Cheddar! The nature reserves at Westhay and Shapwick Heath are a must for birdwatchers while Wells Cathedral and Glastonbury Abbey provide the cultural heritage of the area. Street is nearby for those looking for a designer bargain at Clarks Village and a visit to Somerset wouldn't be complete without a visit to Thatchers Cider with its restaurant and shop, or the more rustic experience of Wilkins Cider Farm just down the road. Taunton, Bath and Bristol are all reachable by car and provide the perfect choice for day trips. The owners even have their very own attraction, a Sea Harrier jump jet for you to sit in. In such a great location, Owl Lodge is perfect for couples and families all year round. Note: Property can be booked with Starling Lodge Ref 1100432, sleeping 12 people together.

There was everything that we needed supplied by the friendly owners. We had many interesting places to visit and we particularly liked Wedmore as a nearby village. I think the four of us would have been happy to just stay in the lodge and not necessarily need to travel about. The hot tub was a bonus. Who needs the beach?

It was immaculate inside and out with beautiful viewsâ¦.including the Shetland ponyâs, Alpaca,s and sheep. It was so peaceful and you really couldnât want for anything more. Jo and Neil popped by to invite us to look at their Harrier jump jet!! An absolute treat! and we were told so much information about it ( I even climbed up into the cockpit). The only downside was that England didnât win the Euros but it definitely didnât stop us enjoying our stay. Thanks Jo and Neil

The lodge had everything you needed including comfortable beds, which is always a bonus. The owners are very nice and friendly and totally under selling the place, wonderful stay.
