About this property

Sleeps 28

Nestled in woodland at the edge of the renowned Barle Valley, Northmoor comfortably sleeps 28. Ideal for reunions and family holidays, there is a relaxed and friendly atmosphere with plenty to explore come rain or shine. Built in 1856 by the owner of a large lead works in newly industrialised Newcastle, Northmoor still proudly fulfils its original vocation and offers a perfect rural retreat to relax and enjoy oneself.

Sensitively restored, the house is little altered since Victorian times and many original features, such as servants bells and the butlers bath stowed in a cupboard make Northmoor a fascinating place to stay and explore. The large kitchen offers ample modern facilities to cater for all occupants during your stay. The snooker room, along with table tennis and table football will provide plenty of indoor entertainment. A disabled access bathroom and bedroom on the ground floor, and no steps throughout the ground floor mean that Northmoor can be enjoyed by all.

Wild Red Deer frequent the garden and park, and the adjoining Sessile Oak woodlands are a designated area of special scientific interest. The clear waters of the Barle are only a short walk from the main house and intrepid explorers will find themselves ideally placed to explore the Exmoor National Park. The picturesque town of Dulverton is just 1.5 miles, and can be reached without using the road, perfect for a cream tea. Dulverton also offers a Co-op, butchers, take-away, chemists, library and local information.

Local stables offer beautiful riding opportunities and we have 3/4 mile of private double bank fishing on the Barle.

Northmoor also has a civil wedding venue license should you wish to hold a wedding here and during the summer months is available for parties and events of up to 60 guests.

Northmoor House offers accomodation for a group of 28 in luxury Victorian style in the Exmoor National Park. Sensitively restored and with ample facilities for a laid back party atmosphere, Northmoor is an ideal choice for your reunion, celebration or family holiday.
