Bowood House, Lacock, Bath Spa, Badminton House, Longleat Safari Park, and Westonbirt are all within easy reach for fun days out.Dogs are welcome and feel totally at home exploring the wonderful footpaths that criss cross the village and surrounding countryside 

The Dovecote welcomes guests from around the world who choose the holiday rental to enjoy the full beauty of the tranquil English countryside. The Dovecote is located in an area of outstanding natural beauty in the Wiltshire Cotswolds, less than a mile from the Salutation Inn in the village of The Gibb and within easy reach of the region's favourite sights and attractions. It is one of two superb holiday rentals in the grounds of Fosse Farmhouse, where the owner also runs a boutique B&B. Nettleton is in a fantastic location for a holiday in the English countryside. It's surrounded by fields and country lanes with hedgerows that burst with flowers in spring and summer. Follow the footpath from Fosse Farmhouse to Castle Combe, enjoying lovely views on your way to the picturesque village with its wonderful Cotswold houses and quiet winding lanes.The Dovecote is nestled beside the Fosse Way - the longest and oldest Roman Road in Britain, and a route that has been in constant use since 43CE. Spend a day on the track at nearby Castle Combe Race Circuit or play 18-holes at The Manor House Golf Club, within walking distance of The Dovecote.

Lacock and Lacock Abbey are near the thriving market town of Chippenham. Both are within an easy 20-minute drive of The Dovecote. Chippenham has an excellent choice of shops and amenities and is convenient for stocking up for your self-catering stay. There is also a farm shop closer to home in Burton (two miles away). Lacock is in the National Trust's expert care and gives visitors a glimpse into the past as it has remained virtually unchanged for centuries. The village and the medieval abbey are so quintessentially English that they have been used as a filming location in earlier Harry Potter films and favourite TV shows such as Downton Abbey.

Bath is just under half an hour's drive from The Dovecote, with a wealth of sights and attractions. Bristol is also within easy reach for a day out. Local attractions include the amazing adventure playground in the gardens of Bowood House. Longleat Safari Park and Westonbirt Arboretum are two different but fun choices, or you could plan your visit around an event like the prestigious Badminton Horse Trials.

The Dovecote is a first-floor studio apartment with oak beams, solid wood flooring, and multi-aspect windows with gorgeous views over the garden and countryside. There are separate areas for cooking, eating and sleeping.

Outside: The Dovecote guests have shared use of two acres of gardens so there is lots of room to sit in the sunshine and watch the children play. BBQ available. The apartment also has off-street parking.

Additional Information: Utilities, WiFi, bed linen and bath towels are all included. Short breaks are possible, depending on availability. Two well-behaved dogs welcome through prior arrangement. The Dovecote is a non-smoking property.
