Guests say

Guests appreciate the cottage's comfortable amenities, beautiful garden views, and quiet rural location, ideal for relaxation and proximity to Southend's beaches. However, some noted a lack of Wi-Fi and mobile signal, and one report of subpar cleanliness and maintenance issues.

Reviews are mixed regarding cleanliness. While some guests found the property clean and tidy, one detailed account described the property as unclean upon arrival, which significantly impacts the overall cleanliness score.

The location is generally praised for its quiet, rural setting and easy access to local attractions, including Southend's seafront. However, the lack of information on local transport was a minor inconvenience for one guest.

The property is considered comfortable by most guests, with a view of a lovely garden and a peaceful setting. Suggestions for improvement include better mattresses and additional amenities for comfort.

Facilities are adequate with a well-equipped kitchen and washing machine, but guests suggested improvements such as Wi-Fi, drying space for laundry, and an updated information pack. Maintenance issues and lack of cleaning equipment were also noted.

There is no mention of gifts or extra thoughtful touches provided by the hosts in the reviews, so it is not possible to assess this category.

The hosts are fantastic and very welcoming. Very accurately depicted in the photos. Very clean and has almost all the amenities you could need. The only downside however, and for some quite major, is the lack of WiFi. The mobile reception is very poor at best to compound the issue. The only network with anything at all is EE (And associated networks). I downloaded a Lyca Mobile E-sim and was able to get some 4G reception in certain areas (Very cheap and no contract!) Otherall a very nice stay for work though. Will definitely return.

The property was clean and modern but quite small and therefore limited storage space by which I mean there was no vacuum cleaner nor mops etc to clean the property so we felt quite guilty not being able to leave without being able to clean properly. There is a smart TV which is quite strange seeing as there is no Wi-Fi but it was quite satisfactory for us. Perhaps an ordinary Freeview TV with DVD would have been a better choice. We did make some suggestions to the owner for ways to improve such as provide a space with table, mirror and chair for ladies to do their make-up. Also a new mattress because the present one is past its best. There is a washing machine but nowhere to hang out the washing. An airer on the patio would have sufficed. We also suggested an information pack would be a nice thing to provide listing of services, attractions, bus routes, etc. We took a bus outside the property to go into the city. It went 4 miles to Shoebury then turned around and came all the way back to where we started before going on in the opposite direction to the city centre. It would have been helpful to have known that! The property was clean and tidy. A parking space is part of the property. The property is in a quiet rural area which suited us perfectly.

Easy access to beaches and sea front of Southend and to quiet country roads for walking. Welcoming, pleasant, discret owner. Most enjoyable stay.
