Russet is one of four, one-bedroom country penthouse lodges located in the peaceful surroundings of Constable Country in Suffolk, in the Dedham Vale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The contemporary, eco-friendly self-catering lodges are just a short walk away from fantastic golf, spa, and dining facilities at the Stoke by Nayland Resort. The lodges are perfect for indulgent, romantic breaks for two.
Spacious and bright, this first floor lodge offers an exquisitely furnished open-plan living, kitchen and dining area which features floor-to-ceiling windows at one end, with patio doors leading out onto huge wooden balconies looking out over the beautiful Suffolk countryside – just perfect for a leisurely breakfast, a spot of sunbathing or perhaps an evening cocktail or two as the sun goes down. The stunning, spacious en-suite double/twin bedroom features a high ceiling, glass chandelier and Juliet balcony.
Up to ten lodges offering a total of 16 double bedrooms can also be booked together for much larger groups of up to 32 guests. These are all within a five minute drive of the nearby outstanding facilities at the family-owned Stoke by Nayland Resort.

The lodge and resort were superb but the information from Airbnb was rubbish. The check in and check out times were wrong. We were told we had to strip the beds and bag up the bedding and towels which was incorrect. The cost was 30% more than booking direct with the resort. Needless to say we will not be using Airbnb again.

Great location, 15 minutes away from the Colchester town centre that has a cinema, restaurants and high street shops. 10 minute drive from petrol station and supermarkets. Outstanding service from Hotel receptionist and Lodge Porter; both fulfilled all our needs such as help with the TV and cookers, delivered our takeaway to our room and made us feel very welcome and at home. Beautiful spa and gym facilities, that provided us with lots of towels, showers, hairdryers and straighteners for women on a desk with mirrors. There is lots of privacy and open space. Great for couples and families who want to spend some time together. Only negative is that we did not receive any toiletries besides toilet roll, towel and handwash. We had to go out and buy shampoo, bodywash etc. Also no salt and hamper was not full with eggs and butter as I was told. There were only small sachets of sugar, tea and coffee.
