Hadleigh 4.2 miles. 3 Canada Cottages, a traditional, mid-terrace cottage is tucked away in the rural village of Lindsey, Suffolk. With its beautiful woodburning stove, the convenience of a dishwasher, and close proximity to a shop, this property welcomes a couple, friends sharing, or even solo travellers, idyllic for a romantic escape. Upon entering, you will be greeted by the well-equipped kitchen/diner, where you can whip up some tasty meals and enjoy a candlelight dinner around the table. You can look forward to cosying up by the roaring fire to watch a movie on the TV with your loved one, then retreat to the double bedroom, to drift off into a deep sleep, after a long day of exploration. Outside, the garden offers a lovely space to enjoy the fresh air and soak up the peaceful surroundings. If you don't fancy cooking take a trip to The Lindsey Rose, Peacock Inn Chelsworth, or Wagyu Burgers & Street Food, all a short drive for some yummy food. Explore the surrounding area of Lindsey and discover the charming towns of Hadleigh, Ipswich, and Sudbury. Hadleigh offers a historic market town with a range of independent shops, cafes, and restaurants to enjoy. Ipswich boasts a vibrant waterfront area, perfect for a leisurely stroll and sampling some local cuisine at Porters. Sudbury is known for its stunning scenery and art scene, with attractions such as the Gainsborough’s House and the Sudbury Heritage Centre waiting to be explored. The pretty, ancient market town of Hadleigh lies deep in the Suffolk countryside between Ipswich and Sudbury. The main street is lined with attractive independent shops with an excellent choice of tea rooms and traditional inns. There are numerous historic buildings which provide a very pleasant backdrop for a morning stroll whilst perusing the local craft and gift shops. The surrounding area is ideal for walking and cycling and inspired John Constable’s fine paintings of nearby Dedham Vale – a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Close by is the picturesque Suffolk wool town of Lavenham whilst Long Melford is renowned for its antique shops and the Roman town of Colchester is just ten miles away.

When we arrived it was almost full, so had to park slightly in the road to unload the car. After that there was usually space. There is alternative off road parking but it is very tight - large cars wouldnât be able to use it. The cottage itself is lovely, really cosy and comfortable and we enjoyed staying there. There is a known problem with the cooker, which the owner was doing her best to resolve. We had some excellent meals in local pubs, so not a problem for us. There was helpful information about local pubs in the cottage. The plus side of being on a main road, it is easy to travel around and there are many interesting historic places to visit. Overall we had a very relaxing and enjoyable week.

Everything we needed was provided including generous welcome gifts , a very comfortable bed and lovely fluffy towels. The surrounding area offers walks, great pubs and quaint Suffolk towns to explore and further afield the Suffolk coastline is another option for a day out. We very much hope to return.

The kitchen was well equipped and everything you could need was provided for. Great location for walks, local craft centres and cafes and visiting nearby historical centres. We had a lovely stay and would thoroughly recommend. Hope to visit again.
