Heron Lodge is a well-presented pine lodge located in the charming village of Badwell Ash in Suffolk. Nestled beside a lake and surrounded by countryside, it is an ideal base for friends and couples seeking a remote and relaxing retreat but with easy access by car to the attractive market town of Bury St Edmunds. After spending the afternoon chatting in the sun by the lake on the swing seat, retreat to the lodge with its spacious open-plan living space where you'll prepare dinner for you and your loved ones in the fully-equipped kitchen while they keep you company in the sitting area. Enjoy your feast around the dining table or for a more indulgent dinner make use of the barbecue and the outdoor seating for some scrumptious, lakeside, alfresco dining. After the food settles, slip into your bathing suits and sink into the hot tub while marvelling at the surrounding views and the setting sun. Head back inside and unwind with a steaming shower before slipping under soft covers to catch some rest. All guests can fish year-round, day and night, from the mostly lodge-side designated areas located on Main Lake, Kingfisher Lake or Mill Pond; equipment and a valid Rod Licence are required. Badwell Ash is a quaint, traditional Suffolk village resting in the heart of the county, not far from Bury St Edmunds and Stowmarket. In the village, you'll find the historic Badwell Ash Church, St Mary's and a handful of amenities such as a village shop to stock up on essentials, The White Horse Inn for some delicious pub grub and Rumbles Fish Bar & Takeaway for a classic English delicacy. Within easy reach of the village is the historic market town of Bury St Edmunds where you can visit Bury St Edmunds Abbey and St Edmundsbury Cathedral and go shopping in the bustling high street. Venture out to explore delightful quaint Suffolk villages like medieval Lavenham where you can visit Lavenham Guildhall and Lavenham Contemporary, or lovely towns like Woodbridge and Newmarket, each boasting a handful of eateries and green spaces for you to stroll around and picnic in.
