Tackley is a picturesque village situated in the Oxfordshire Cotswolds, approx 8 miles north of Oxford and 3 miles from Woodstock, home of Blenheim Palace. The name Tackley is derived from 'tack' which means sheep or ewe and 'ley' which means glade or clearing! The village is very pretty, has a good village shop and a local pub The Gardiner Arms. There is another pub just outside the village called Sturdy's Castle.
Nearby there are some superb attractions to visit. Rousham Hall is very close by and although there are restrictions to visiting etc, it is a beautiful stately home.
