Guests say

Ferry Cottage is a rural retreat offering peace and tranquillity, with guests appreciating its comfortable beds, effective central heating, and the charm of being on a working farm. The surrounding countryside and wildlife provide a serene backdrop, ideal for those seeking isolation and direct access to nature.

Most guests found the cottage clean and tidy, with clean bed linen and towels provided. However, some mentioned issues with flies in the kitchen and mouse droppings, which affected their experience.

The location is highly praised for its peacefulness, rural charm, and proximity to nature and local attractions. The remote setting on a working farm is appreciated for stargazing and wildlife spotting, although the long drive down narrow lanes may not suit everyone.

Guests generally found the cottage comfortable, highlighting the comfy beds and the cosy atmosphere with a wood burner. Some noted that the property felt cold initially but warmed up quickly, while others mentioned the need for more kitchen equipment.

The cottage is equipped with a good shower, central heating, and a kitchen suitable for meal preparation. However, there are comments about maintenance issues, such as curtain rails needing fixing, and some guests were inconvenienced by the lack of a working TV and dishwasher.

While some guests mentioned the lack of welcoming touches such as bread, milk, or biscuits, there are not enough reviews referencing gifts or additional thoughtful gestures to accurately score this category.

We found it under Remote Cottages, and it's exactly that. You can get to lots of touristy places by car if you want to, but the lovely thing about this place is no traffic, no noise, you're in the middle of the countryside and the peace is amazing. You won't find a single plastic plant or inspirational message on the walls, just a solid country cottage, which is what we like

The location was nice but the Cottage was so run down the front door didn’t lock properly, the stair carpet had all stains,it needed a new kitchen the curtains and cushions were dirty. I would like a refund as the cottage wasn’t upto standard. It’s cheeky what you charge for this property when it’s in bad state.
