Marsh Cottage is a well-received holiday rental in a peaceful, rural setting, offering comfort, ample space, and a well-equipped environment. Guests have praised its quiet location, the welcoming touches from the host, and the cottage's suitability for family stays and exploring the Peak District. Some guests noted areas for improvement, but overall experiences were positive, with many expressing a desire to return.
Most guests found the cottage to be clean and tidy, especially in areas that matter the most. However, there were a few mentions of dust and stains, and one mention of black mould in the shower, which suggests room for improvement in the cleaning routine.
The location is highly praised for its beauty and tranquillity, ideal for a peaceful retreat and well-placed for exploring the surrounding areas. However, some guests noted the challenging narrow lanes and potential difficulty in accessing the property, which could be a consideration for future visitors.
Guests consistently described the cottage as comfortable, with a homely feel and ample space. The central heating and comfortable sofas were appreciated, although there were suggestions that some of the furniture could benefit from updating or cleaning.
The cottage is generally well-equipped, meeting guests' expectations for a self-catered stay. However, there were comments about the need for maintenance and updates, including garden furniture and Wi-Fi issues, which impacted the overall experience.

Situated in the south of the Peak District, Ashbourne is a wonderful example of an English market town. With a traditional market square, eclectic street plan, narrow cobbled alleys, coaching inns and almshouses, the heyday of this settlement came in the 18th Century when the town was a fashionable social centre. Many fine Georgian buildings remain from this era, adding an air of elegance to the town's heart. With numerous restaurants and inns, Ashbourne is also regarded as something of a haven for antique hunters. For those who prefer outdoor pursuits, the Dove and Manifold Valleys are close by, offering wonderful walking opportunities. Alton Towers Theme Park is just 20 minutes drive away and makes a fun day out for all the family.
