About this property

55 Church Street is a truly special, mid-terrace, Grade II listed holiday home in the heart of Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire. Set over three floors and enjoying a view of Tewkesbury Abbey, 55 Church Street has the best of both worlds, with amenities on the doorstep and an antique-led interior sure to wow visitors. Inside this period property, you will find a lovely décor keeping with Victorian style, as well as original woodwork and features, such as the quaint stained-glass window in the kitchen and back door, while enjoying contemporary amenities to make your self-catering holiday one to remember. Find the sitting room with an open fire as you step inside, the ideal room for cosying up and enjoying a good book or a film on the TV. From here, the galley-style kitchen offers all you need to cook up tasty dinners to fuel your exploration, and there is even a handy wine cooler for your evening tipple! Moving through the property, a dainty dining area for 2 people offers a space to enjoy breakfast, leading to the rear door and out into the courtyard for alfresco dining in the warmer months. Climb the characterful stairs, where the impressive décor continues in the bedrooms; the master bedroom lies on the first floor, home to an antique king-size bed, while the second floor hosts an equally-delightful antique double with a crystal-clear view of Tewkesbury Abbey. Finishing off the property is a beautifully-presented shower room on the second floor, utilising luxurious colours and metals to create a most-inviting space to freshen up. There are numerous popular restaurants and pubs nearby, including the vibrant Nottingham Arms and the Brittania, as well as the more elegant Gupshill Manor, which is a short drive away. When you can bear to leave 55 Church Street, there are various shops and supermarkets nearby to stock up on necessities, including a local Tesco. For a taste of culture, the town offers two theatres, the Tewkesbury Museum, and the beautiful Tewkesbury Abbey. Further away, visit Cheltenham, an attractive Regency town where you can wander around Montpellier Gardens, browse the many art galleries and museums, or see a play at the theatre before dining at one of the town's superb restaurants. Alternatively, book and attend one of Cheltenham Racecourse's famous race days for a thrilling day out. Gloucester, also nearby, offers the medieval Docks and the great cathedral before heading further to the Malvern Hills AONB or the Cotswolds AONB. Enjoy a break like no other at 55 Church Street.

A historic riverside town located on the confluence of the River Severn and Avon, retaining medieval character with an abundance of half timbered Tudor buildings. Tewkesbury is renowned as having one of the best medieval Black and White townscapes in the country, boasting over 350 listed buildings of historic interest set in a conservation area. The town has a stunning 12th century abbey with the highest Norman tower in England, several museums, a Heritage Centre as well as a plethora of individual shops, tea rooms, restaurants, pubs and wine bars.
