A short stroll from the house is the River Wye, a riverside nature reserve, the ruins of the Norman Motte, and Baily Clifford Castle. Walkers can join the Wye Valley Walk and head towards Hay-on-Wye or while away a fine afternoon skimming stones and watching canoeists paddle the gentle rapids of the river beach. The Warren, a delightful riverside meadow, is just over 3 miles away. The Wye Valley and Offa’s Dyke trails pass through Hay-on-Wye, perfect for keen walkers, with the landscapes of the Brecon Beacons National Park just 2.5 miles away offering trails leading to Hay Bluff and Twmpa.
