This chocolate-box cottage amongst the trees provides a peaceful retreat for couples and small families to switch off and relax. You’ll find many waymarked walking trails branching away from the property, and you’re also welcome to take a guided tour of the farm, by prior arrangement. Further walking opportunities await in the nearby Black Mountains and Shropshire Hills. In the evenings, watch the sun set over the hills from your south-facing terrace.
The picture-postcard holiday home, set amongst the apple trees of a thriving fruit farm, has a rustic style, with country-cottage decor and charming original features. The farmhouse-style kitchen is a joy to cook in, with everything you need for a self-catering break. A large lounge/diner forms the heart of the home and has comfortable sofas arranged around an open fire and TV/DVD. A wooden dining table sits next to the window, offering far-reaching countryside views as you dine together. The two bedrooms and family bathroom are upstairs. Outside, discover a south-facing terrace with magnificent views, with a private hot tub and furniture for al fresco dining.
The picturesque town of Kington (3 miles) has a myriad of shops, art galleries, boutiques, and cafes lining its historic streets, as well as weekly markets selling delicious local produce. The town is also home to England’s highest 18-hole golf course, and is the start of the long-distance Mortimer Trail. The beautiful Hergest Croft Gardens are just outside the town and are a must for any horticulture enthusiasts, with a national collection of maples and birches and more than 80 champion trees. From the cottage it’s easy to take a day trip to the literary town of Hay-on-Wye (15 miles) or the cathedral city of Hereford (18 miles).
