The ancient market town of Ledbury (4 miles), dating back to 960 AD, nestles under the Malvern Hills east of Hereford, surrounded by unspoilt English countryside. Ledbury lies on the River Leadon and is famous for its numerous timbered buildings, including Ledbury Park, believed to be one the finest Black and White buildings in England, the 17th century Market House in the town centre and The Painted Room, home to 16th century frescoes. Many music, art and food and drink festivals can be enjoyed in the town and the surrounding area. From time to time music, art, poetry, food and drink festivals are held in the town. Nearby is Eastnor Castle, a fine example of a 19th century, mock-medieval castle, and numerous festivals are held in Eastnor Park. Close by is the historic city of Hereford with its 11th century cathedral, world famous Mappa Mundi and Chained Library. Malvern offers guests many lovely walks along the hills, a luxurious spa and for the car enthusiasts the Morgan Motor Company. Guests can also enjoy the local vineyards, travel along the Elgar Route, visit the Black and White villages and enjoy the many outdoor activities available in the Forest of Dean and beautiful Wye Valley. A great holiday destination at any time of year.

Wonderful setting. Comfortable lounge area with plenty of seating. The kitchen with large dining table was well laid out and had everything that we needed and more. I especially liked the teapot. So many places expect you to make your tea in a cup. The bedrooms were well-equipped with both drawers and hanging spaces and the beds were very comfortable. The bedding was of very good quality so a good sleep was guaranteed. Mary was a great host who told us of various places of interest and places to eat and she was available to help if needed. Altogether a wonderful place to relax and take a break from the world for while. Highly recommended.

Very remote for those wanting urban activity . With teenagers noting the Internet didn’t work at all. Bath towels were too small for a luxury location. Very attentive hosts.

Mary was very welcoming & always on hand to answer any queries. The property is very spacious & in a delightful, peaceful location. Ledbury is close by as are many other tourist attractions including the Malverns and the city of Hereford with its fascinating Mappa Mundi. We particularly enjoyed our trip to Weston’s Cider Mill. Booking a table for something to eat advisable beforehand.
