A beautiful cottage resting beside a church in the town of Pembridge near Eardisland, The Old Bakehouse is a charming abode ideal for two couples or a family looking to explore Herefordshire. Be welcomed by the quaint exterior of this cottage, and the neighbouring green space and church, making your way past the mature shrubs and through a shared courtyard to make yourself at home in this charming cottage. Here guests will discover a lovely open-plan living space with a kitchen with Rangemaster oven, ideal for cooking up a storm. With the added ambience of a woodburning stove, the living/dining room is ideal for family mealtimes and relaxing with a good book. When sleep calls, choose between two well-presented bedrooms to catch your rest in, including a tasteful ground-floor double with a charming bathroom with a freestanding bath and shower, or a mezzanine double with an en-suite shower room, and both bedrooms are zip/link beds, so can be set up as twin rooms on request. To the rear of the property, find a tranquil garden space with mature shrubs, an aviary, pond and furniture ideal for an alfresco affair. Pembridge is a village settled into the countryside of Herefordshire, with local independent shops and a selection of pubs and cafes, including the New Inn, Bloom and Grind, Ye Olde Steppes and The Red Lion. Further from the property you will find more amenities and attractions at Eardisland, where there is a convenience store where guests can stock up on essentials, as well as walks beside the River Arrow. Local attractions include Westonbury Mill Water Gardens, Small Breeds Farm Park and National Trust - Croft Castle and Parkland. The bustling medieval village of Pembridge lies on the Black & White Village Trail and boasts many striking 15th and 16th Century half-timbered buildings, and has held markets and fairs in the village since the early 1200s. The village has a beautiful 14th century market hall, 3 traditional village pubs, an excellent village store, a cafe and a church with a unique detached bell tower. Close by, the picturesque village of Weobley, once voted one of the top ten places to live in England, has many timber-framed buildings, and excellent facilities including a village shop, local pubs and the renowned Jules restaurant. Hay-on-Wye, the town of books, is within easy reach as are medieval Ludlow, the cathedral city of Hereford with its medieval bridge spanning the River Wye, Mappa Mundi world map and Chained Library. The magnificent Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons National Park also make a great day out. Surrounded by beautiful rolling countryside including Offa's Dyke and the Golden Valley, this is an excellent location for walking and cycling trails as well as sampling wonderful local produce at a local cheese factory, vineyard and cider farms.
