The surrounding area is filled with natural beauty; explore country parks, impressive houses, museums and picturesque Shropshire villages, as well as easy access to the Royal Air Force Museum at Cosford, and Ironbridge Gorge, considered the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution. History lovers will be drawn to the 16th century Elizabethan manor, Upton Cressett Hall or the remains of Bridgnorth Castle, a 12th century structure that was demolished upon Oliver Cromwell’s orders. The market town of Bridgenorth rests in the county of Shropshire in the heart of England. The River Servern splits the town into two parts; The High Town and the Low Town. The town was once considered one of the busiest river ports in Europe, but nowadays, the Severn, clear and unpolluted, is a quiet haven for anglers, walkers and wildlife. Within the town there is a choice of shops, pubs, restaurants and cafés, along with a lively Saturday market where visitors can pick up local goodies.

The weather could have been kinder but we throughly enjoyed our stay and would have no hesitation in recommending the Garden Lodge to others. Thanks again Liz for all of your kindness and hospitality. :-)
