About this property

The Property:

Located near Bishop's Castle Shropshire on the border of Wales is a unique and interesting property featuring 2 quirky roundhouses which are located on either side of the main building.

Rolling Hills is situated in 50 acres of green fields with a babbling stream at the bottom of the valley.

Rolling Hills is an ideal retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life as there is no noise or light pollution and is ideal for families and groups to enjoy a break in the English countryside or that Romantic week end away with that special someone snuggled up in front of the wood burner looking up through the clear dome at the star lit sky from inside the comforts of the round house.

This property comes with stunning panoramic views of the south Shropshire hills with Offa's Dyke at the end of the field and Bishop's Castle in the distance, an ideal location for hill walking or cycle rides on quiet country lanes.

Rolling Hills has a rather unusual layout with two identical roundhouses in separate buildings either side of the main communal living area. The roundhouses, Ash and Maple are astoundingly different with only natural light coming through a large clear dome in the centre of the roof, lighting up what is an eccentric, fascinating open plan living area.

The only major difference between the two is the type of wood on the walls, Ash being clad with ash wood and Maple being clad with maple wood. Both pods are almost identical inside, finished with large contemporary king size beds, and two Futons which are ideal for children up to the age of 14, a sleeping bag and pillow are provided for the Futons. The rooms also have en suite basin and WC, comfortable reclining chairs, a wood burner and a 42 inch Smart TV, creating the perfect living space.

The communal living area is nothing short of spectacular with two spacious wet rooms and an immaculate kitchen diner, one double bedroom with large king sized bed and smart TV, one twin bedroom with 2 single beds and smart TV and a large Cinema room with 75 inch smart TV with enough comfortable seating for up to 14 people. There is also a Games room with a dart board, a combi football/pool table and more comfortable seating for enjoying stunning views down the valley, making this the perfect spot for the group to come together for relaxation and plan the activities of the day.

The attractive town of Bishop's Castle is surrounded by the South West Shropshire Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The town offers a weekly market and an excellent variety of shops, pubs and places to eat. It is famous for its annual Real Ale Festival, Tandem Triathlon and regular festivals and fairs, including Party in the Park and the particularly popular, Michaelmas Fair. The town is ideally placed for walking and touring the Welsh Marches, rural Shropshire and North Herefordshire, while the fascinating and well-known towns of Montgomery, Ludlow and Shrewsbury are all within easy reach. If you’re looking for a quiet, secluded and relaxing trip away, I can highly recommend this. All the amenities you need, the beds are comfortable, the place is spotlessly clean and the owners cannot do enough for you. We had a wonderful stay and definitely hope to return in the future.

Beautiful setting with stunning views of the surrounding countryside. We stayed for two nights and didn't venture away from the accommodation. Facilities top notch and very nice to have milk, eggs, bread, coffee and milk provided. Highly recommend
