Guests say

Orchard Cottage is highly praised for its cleanliness, charming character, and modern furnishings. Guests appreciate the secure garden for dogs and the thoughtful welcome packs. While some mention the need to drive due to location and minor maintenance issues, the overall sentiment is overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing a desire to return.

The cottage receives high marks for cleanliness, with numerous guests noting it was spotless upon arrival. One review mentioned a minor issue with the sink and washing up bowl, but this appears to be an isolated incident.

The location is generally well-received as a great base for exploring the area, though some guests noted the necessity of driving due to the lack of footpaths and a busier road than expected.

Comfort is consistently praised, particularly the beds and the secure garden for dogs. However, a few guests mentioned an uncomfortable sofa and a bed that was too soft, suggesting room for improvement.

Facilities are well-regarded, especially the well-equipped kitchen and enclosed garden. Some concerns were raised about WiFi reliability, birds nesting in the roof, and the need for some property investment.

Guests frequently mention the thoughtful touches, such as welcome packs and dog treats. While these are highly appreciated, it is noted that such gifts, though delightful, are subject to availability and not guaranteed.

Enclosed garden huge bonus for dog. Road was busier than we expected. Left hand side of bed in main bedroom needs a new mattress, it is not just soft but not fit for purpose - weight of an adult means it bottoms out against the base. We didn't report whilst there as it was bank holiday and we didn't want our holiday disturbed by debate about it - we were able to put a child in there and swop around but other people may not have this option. A shame that the gardens were mowed for 1.5 hours on our last night when it was nice enough weather to sit out and we couldn't and that on leaving the back gate was left open so our dog nearly escaped onto the road.

Everything we needed and quiet. Pleasant place to relax at the return from visiting family and nearby fields to walk our dog. Easy to keep clean and tidy. We will most definitely stay again if the cottage is available.

The freezer draws were catching on excessive ice accumulation . The freezer needs de-frosting.
