The Old Smokehouse receives high praise for its cleanliness, cosy atmosphere, and excellent location opposite Cannock Chase. Guests appreciate the welcoming hosts, the well-equipped and maintained property, and the delightful garden with a hot tub. While compact, the cottage offers a peaceful retreat with thoughtful touches, though one review mentions limited space and road noise.
Reviews consistently mention that the property is very clean and well-presented, with several guests highlighting the immaculate condition upon arrival. One negative comment does not significantly impact the overall high standard observed.
The property's location is frequently praised for its proximity to Cannock Chase and local amenities. Guests appreciate the easy access to outdoor activities and the peaceful setting, although one review cites road noise as a drawback.
Many guests find the cottage cosy and perfect for couples, with a comfortable garden and hot tub. However, a few reviews note the compact nature of the property and one mentions discomfort with the bed, slightly lowering the score.
The facilities, including the hot tub, BBQ, and well-equipped kitchen, receive positive remarks. Maintenance appears to be good, with the hot tub being regularly checked. One review suggests the kitchen is a bit small for extensive cooking, which is considered in the score.
Guests frequently mention the thoughtful touches provided by the hosts, such as welcome packs and decorations for special occasions. While these gifts are warmly received, it is noted that such personal touches, though likely, are not guaranteed for every stay.
