A former Gamekeeper’s lodge for the farm, Lavender Cottage has been beautifully renovated to a high standard and now provides comfortable accommodation for six guests.

Lavender Cottage is surrounded by farmland to one side and woodland to the other, making it the perfect rural spot, benefitting from an abundance of wildlife and magnificent views. Boasting several countryside walks right from the doorstep, or if you prefer to enjoy the fresh air relaxing, there is ample seating in the pretty cottage garden where you can enjoy a morning coffee, a glass of wine in the evening, or fire up the barbecue for an alfresco lunch.

Step inside the spacious and beautifully furnished cottage, where the majority of the living space occupies the ground floor with the exception of a twin bedroom on the lower ground floor. The kitchen is generous, well-equipped and opens out into the garden – perfect for a sociable entertaining space. The separate dining room, with seating for six guests, leads through to the cosy sitting room complete with a roaring open fire and a Smart television; perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring the Cotswolds. Also on the ground floor are two double bedrooms, both benefitting from stunning views of the farmed fields to the front aspect of the property. One bedroom features a king size bed, whilst the second has a double bed and and enjoys its own en-suite wash basin and wc. The large family bathroom has a bath and separate walk-in shower, and you will be treated to local Cotswold Aromatherapy toiletries.

Lavender Cottage is situated on the outskirts of the delightful village of Long Compton nestling at the bottom of a valley and ideally situated close to the border of Oxfordshire, between the bustling market towns of Shipston-on-Stour and Chipping Norton. The local village pub, The Red Lion, is dog friendly and provides a variety of freshly prepared dishes using locally sourced and seasonal ingredients, and children can enjoy the outdoor play area.

Whilst located in a peaceful and tranquil village, guests can enjoy the best of both worlds, with easy access to many of the key Cotswold destinations; see just a few of our suggestions below.
