The ancient village of Rowington lies in unspoilt Warwickshire countryside and offers many lovely walks including the Heart of England Way. The Grand Union Canal is close by as is the village country pub and restaurant which serves home-cooked food and real ales. The village boasts Rowington Manor, once owned by Catherine Parr and Shakespeare Hall, where it is said Shakepeare's family lived when he wrote 'As you like it'. Close by, Lapworth Village is strongly associated with the Gunpowder Plot of 1605, as the leader of the plotters, Robert Catesby, was born and lived here, and his tomb is in Lapworth Church.
