Great Malvern 2.4 miles. Known as a ‘Hovel’ in Victorian times, Number 29 is an ex-estate workers cottage that has been beautifully restored and tastefully extended. It sits on the edge of Madresfield Village, part of the 4000-acre rural Madresfield Estate, Worcestershire. With three bedrooms sleeping up six guests, families, friends, and couples alike will enjoy this countryside escape, with fabulous views of the Malvern Hills, complete with a private, landscaped garden and patio with a wood-fired hot-tub and off-road parking for three cars; this property is also dog friendly. The interior has been designed with sociable dining in mind with a well-appointed, spacious kitchen-diner with double doors leading on to a sizeable patio and garden. After a delicious meal cooked on the barbecue, the wood-fired hot tub will allow you to unwind and star-gaze whilst reminiscing about your day’s adventures. On colder nights you can peacefully rest in the beautifully designed living room or choose to play games, read, or watch television, warmed by the heat from the wood burning stove. Completing the ground floor is a utility with washer/dryer and cloakroom whilst the first floor hosts the family bathroom. The stunning interior design continues in to the three bedrooms, one of which is a king-size with the other two providing flexible arrangements, featuring zip and link beds that can be made into super-king or twin bedrooms. Start your holiday locally, reconnecting with nature and exploring the beautiful surrounding countryside, following the many public access footpaths, discovering the feature rich town of Great Malvern or by hiking the famous Malvern Hills, an Area of Outstanding National Beauty. On your way back from the highest point on the hills ‘The Beacon’, visit St Annes well and café for refreshments; this well is one of hundreds around Malvern where you can try the spa waters. Visit the Malvern Priory and Gardens and the well reputed Malvern Theatres with cinema and be sure to spot the famous working gas lamps, which feature in C.S. Lewis’s ‘The Chronicals of Narnia’. The riverside city of Worcester is nearby, where the 11th century Worcester Cathedral, Worcester City Art Gallery and Museum and The Tudor House can be found, alongside a plethora of culturally diverse, delicious eateries, pubs, and cafés. Further afield, explore the picturesque spa town of Cheltenham on the edge of the Cotswolds AONB, discover the historic docks of Gloucester, the beautiful market town of Shrewsbury, Shropshire, and charming city of Hereford on the River Wye.
On the eastern side of the striking Malvern Hills, the lovely Worcestershire town of Malvern, which dates to the Bronze Age, is located. The Malvern Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, are a 9-mile-long range of old rock that has 100 miles of footpaths and bridleways, as well as natural springs and expansive vistas in all directions. The town has several auctions, farmers' markets, antiques fairs, WI country markets, antique shows, and the Great Malvern Food Festival in June. Malvern is home to unique stores, cafes, galleries, restaurants, a posh spa, and a small brewery. The Three Counties Showground, which often stages events including RHS Malvern (May), The Royal Three Counties Show (June), and the Malvern Autumn Show, is also close by (September). Motoring aficionados love this town since it is the birthplace of the Morgan automobile. The Malvern Theatre hosts performances from the Royal Shakespeare Company and the West End. High ropes, climbing, and abseiling are just a few of the outdoor sports available to the more adventurous. There are National Trust homes, gardens, and wineries in the vicinity, and fishing and river excursions are accessible nearby. Only 30 miles separate Worcester, a cathedral city with modern conveniences, and the magnificent Forest of Dean, which offers a variety of attractions.

The welcome pack was very 'welcome' and delicious, the facilities were great even down to providing wash tablets and dishwasher tablets. The dogs were very pleased to see a lovely thoughtful jar of treats and dog bowls were also provided. Despite the awful weather we all had a lovely relaxing time, thank you!

Great welcome pack. Fantastic for the dogs and dog walks. Really comfortable, and close, but not too close, to amenities, the Malvern hills, etc. Would definitely go back again. 10 out of 10 from us.

The decor and the quality of the workmanship was faultless. It was perfectly cleaned and tidied. The kitchen was well equipped and the welcome gift was much appreciated. The log fired hot tub was amazing and was great to come home to after enjoying our walks in the Malvern Hills. The wrap around garden was secure for our dogs and the off street parking was perfect for our two cars. A well deserved 5 star property which I am happy to highly recommend and would definitely like to return to.
