Known as the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales, venture to the nearby market town of Skipton, 8.5 miles, away to discover its impressive medieval castle before sampling some fabulous local produce from its various cafes, bars and restaurants. The pretty hamlet of Wycoller, Hardcastle Craggs and the priory ruins at Bolton Abbey are all well worth a visit and all reached within 16 miles.
