Every room and surface had not been cleaned for what looks like months. I had to purchase my own cleaning products to clean before the owner confirmed the next day they wills send someone over. Also, so many things broken - blinds in two rooms; lamps, broken fan, tea marks on lots of walls, shower broken, toilet set etc. Struggling to know what was good expect it being in a nice town. These owners shouldn’t be in the holiday rental market

It was obvious from the minute we walked in that the house hadn't been cleaned from the previous people that stayed. There had been a drinknspilt on tje floor and not cleaned up. There were leaves all over the floor. There was food still in the cupboard from previous guests. The fridge was dirty. The oven was dirty. There are stains on the living room ceiling where there has obviously been a leak from the bathroom above. The shower in the loft bedroom had tape over one of the taps so couldn't use. The Stair carpet was dirty. The house is in need of a full refurbishment. We use Sykes cottages all the time and I think they would be shocked to see this place in real time. It shouldn't be on Sykes listing. I underatand that rentals have wear and tear but they should have cleanliness standards and this place was not clean. Thank god for the hot tub. Although a couple of us banged our heads on the low pergola above it. Great location. Couple of lovely little pubs near by like the The Funky Monkey and White Bear. The Italian restaurant 22 Square was amazing.

Beds are really comfortable. nice layout. Could do with a little bit of maintenance, ensuite bathroom door kept popping open and bedroom door didn't close properly. Not a problem for us, but it might be for some. Nice to have a hot tub, to warm up after a chilly day out. Lots of nice places a short drive away. Only one car parking space, but we managed to find an on road space for the other car.
