Step into the cottage and make your way into the spacious living/dining room where you will find plush seating a TV, where the group can sit down to relax after a long day of discovering your surroundings while the woodburning stove creates a warming ambiance. From here, gather at the dining table with your loved ones to discuss your plans for the holiday over a delicious home-cooked meal. The chef of the group will be pleased to discover a large kitchen home to all the appliances you could need to rustle up dinners for your group, including an electric oven and hob, and a handy dishwasher to assist with the clean up. When sleep calls, venture off to the bedrooms to rest your head before another adventurous day; each bedroom has been carefully decorated with a neutral décor and wooden furnishings, fitting with the character features displayed throughout the property. The ground floor hosts one bedroom with a double bed, TV and en-suite shower room, ideal for members of your group with limited mobility, while the first floor hosts three twin bedrooms and another double, each with a TV and serviced by two shower rooms. Completing the interior of the cottage are two handy cloakrooms located on the ground floor. Outside, take advantage of the garden, home to a patio and furniture so you can take your dining al fresco in the warmer months, as well as a lawn area where the children can play and perhaps enjoy a picnic. Treat your loved ones to a tasty pub-grub meal in the 17th century pub, the Dog & Gun Inn, which is just a short walk from the property and also hosts an impressive wine menu. For days out while at the property, get your walking boots on and explore the open countryside and moorlands on foot, taking in the fresh air and marvelling at the overwhelming landscapes. Animal lovers will relish in a day at SMJ Falconry, which specialises in educational and fun-filled bird of prey experiences, while just a short distance away is the Windle House Farm, which provides a petting zoo experience with the adorable farm animals. The thriving town of Halifax is a scenic car journey away, where you will find a good selection of shops, pubs, restaurants and cafés to fuel your excursions. Spend an afternoon exploring Shibden Park; here, you can stroll along the lakeside while your little ones enjoy a ride on the mini train, before stopping for scrumptious tea and cake in the café. Slightly further afield is the city of Leeds, home to plenty more shops and eateries for you to choose from, as well as an abundance of historic sites so you can brush up on your local knowledge too.
