Bridlington is a historic coastal town, and has been a popular tourist destination for generations. Known as the lobster capital of Europe, there are some wonderful seafood restaurants where you can delight in the freshly caught local delicacies.

Nearby you have more of the incredible coastline to explore, including Flamborough, with its dramatic white cliffs, as well as an iconic lighthouse. Bempton, which attracts thousands of sea birds each year, has become a nature reserve where you can see nesting puffins and gannets, as well as the occasional seal in the sea below. The glorious golden beach at Filey stretches for over five miles, which is a joy to visit. In Scarborough, as well as the beach you have the open air theatre, the Sea Life Centre and the oriental gardens with paddle boats at Peasholm Park, as well as Alpamare Water Park and Spa.

For history lovers you have the nearby stately homes of Sewerby Hall and gardens, Burton Agnes and Castle Howard.
