Enter the ground-floor apartment and walk down the spacious hallway into the extensive, open-plan living area, beautifully styled with a contemporary decor, along with traditional touches, like the charming feature fireplace, a choice of two plush sofas to relax onto and enjoy watching something on the Smart TV, or you can curl up on the armchair and get lost in a good book. The market town of Skipton was voted to have the best high street in the UK and has an extensive collection of pubs, bars, restaurants, cafés and shops, as well as a 12th century, well-preserved castle fortress, the Cravern Museum, where you can learn more about the area's past, and Skipton Market, a bustling outdoor street market, open four days a week, attracting visitors from all over, selling a variety of local produce. The area is an ideal base to explore Grassington, Kettlewell and Malham, with it's two fabulous pubs and cafes, as well as Bolton Abbey. A short drive takes you to the village of Haworth which is famous for it's cobbled streets and the Bronte sisters. Walkers and cyclists will be keen to head further into the national park, for plentiful trails through moors, valleys and hills, as well as discovering natural attractions such as Malham Cove, an extensive limestone formation that's stood for 12,000 years, the beautiful waterfall and scenic woodland trial at Janet's Foss, and the limestone ravine of Gordale Scar, with overhanging cliffs and two impressive waterfalls. Tucked inside the Yorkshire Dales National Park, on the banks of the River Aire, is the pretty village of Gargrave. Around 7 miles from Malham, with its spectacular limestone cove and scar, and traversed by the Leeds-Liverpool Canal, cycle route 68 and the Pennine Way, Gargrave is a fantastic base for exploring this part of Yorkshire and offers some of the best walking routes close by. In the village, you will find a selection of places to eat, pubs, cafés and shops. Four miles away is the ancient market town of Skipton, “The Gateway to the Dales” with its historic castle and celebrated high street. On the border of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, this is an ideal location for walking, cycling and touring.
