The settlement lies around a large village green and offers a popular village pub serving delicious fare. Not far from Crakehall is the market town of Bedale, a traditional centre which has its own museum, weekly market and interesting churches, as well as a number of craft and antique shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs, which provide local beers and home cooked food. Also within driving distance are plenty other attractions, including the Constable Burton Hall Gardens with extensive parkland and woodland walks, the Forbidden Corner with its underground passages to explore, the lovely Georgian town of Richmond with its fine castle ruins and the Wensleydale railway line, a heritage railway.

Everything you need for a few days away and the hamper was an added bonus. Hot tub was fab and the beds were so comfy that neither of us wanted to get up each day!! Definitely recommend this cottage and we will definitely be back in the future.

It has everything you could need for a comfortable stay and the welcome pack was very welcome indeed. The folder with the instructions on how to use the kitchen appliances is a great idea and is filled with useful information. If I had one niggle, it would be the addition of a larger frying pan.
