Guests say

Guests consistently praise the Calf House for its immaculate cleanliness, comfortable furnishings, and peaceful farm setting. The property's location is ideal for exploring the North York Moors & Coast, with Thirsk and other attractions nearby. The presence of farm animals adds charm, and the thoughtful touches by the hosts, including a warm welcome and occasional treats, contribute to a delightful stay.

Reviewers unanimously commend the property for its exceptional cleanliness, often describing it as spotless and well-maintained, which indicates a high standard of hygiene and care.

The property's location is frequently highlighted as beautiful and ideal, offering tranquillity on a working farm while being conveniently situated for visiting local market towns and attractions.

Comfort is a recurring theme, with guests finding the cottage clean and comfortable. However, a single mention of the quilt being too heavy suggests while comfort is generally high, personal preferences may vary.

Facilities are praised for being excellent, well-equipped, and including thoughtful extras. The mention of a quick response to a heating issue demonstrates good maintenance, though there is a single note about a less effective shower.

Many reviews express gratitude for the thoughtful touches, such as a warm welcome, fresh milk, and cookies. While these gestures are appreciated, they are subject to change and not guaranteed for every stay.

storage - providing a half-sized cupboard for food and a tiny fridge for up to 4 people is not enough. 2. The ramp to the front door is extremely slippery when wet, even wearing walking boots etc the feet slipped. More worrying was my wife's walking stick and feet slipped numerous times nearly causing a fall! The cottage was very comfy and warm, and we did initially say we would want to return but due to the above we probably will not which is a shame.

Comfortable property and great location with lots to see and do nearby. Very peaceful and beautiful place to spend the week.

The cottage was bigger on the inside than we imagined from the photos. It was beautifully clean and tidy and had all the amenities we needed. The location was a perfect central location and even though on a working farm was quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed it so much we have booked again for next year.
