Guests say

The Curlews is a well-received cottage in the Yorkshire Dales, praised for its cleanliness, cosy comfort, and idyllic location. Guests appreciate the modern amenities, the warm welcome with a fire laid and occasional gifts, and the ample supply of logs for the wood burner. The village's charm and the proximity to walks and local pubs contribute to a delightful stay, despite some minor suggestions for improvements.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Guests consistently note the cottage's cleanliness, describing it as 'beautifully clean' with clear instructions provided. The high level of cleanliness contributes significantly to the comfort and appeal of the property.

The location is highly praised for its beauty and convenience for walks and exploring the Dales. The village's charm and the proximity to a friendly local pub are frequently mentioned, although one review noted the local pub's limitations.

The cottage is described as cosy and comfortable, with special mentions of the comfortable beds and the cosy log burner. However, some guests noted the desire for an upstairs toilet and a more secure shower setup.

Facilities are generally well-regarded, with a well-equipped kitchen and ample heating. Suggestions for improvement include the addition of a washing machine and minor bathroom amenities. The lack of a washing machine and some specific bathroom facilities prevents a higher score.

Guests feel welcomed by gestures such as a laid fire and occasional gifts like wine and biscuits, though it's noted these are pleasant surprises and not guaranteed. The ample provision of wood for the burner also reflects considerate hosting.

We loved our stay . The Curlews is a very warm and comfortable property in a super location . It is clear that lots of careful thought has been invested into making a very cosy holiday home . You are right in the heart of super walking country with no need to resort to the car . Our dogs loved it .

The cottage was perfect, kitchen and bathroom where modern and perfect, the bedrooms were so cosy and comfortable. And the lounge was so perfect to relax for quiet evenings. The area around is picturesque, with so many friendly local towns to explore. The property owner is so friendly and nice, especially as I left my AirPod at the cottage and they were so helpful in getting it back to me.
