The Hideaway in Scarborough is a well-received cottage, praised for its cleanliness, cosy atmosphere, and the added luxury of a hot tub. Guests appreciate the property's charm, its proximity to local attractions, and the responsiveness of the hosts. While some minor issues are noted, the overall sentiment is positive, with many guests expressing a desire to return.
The majority of guests found The Hideaway to be very clean, with several reviews specifically mentioning the cleanliness of the property upon arrival. This indicates a high standard of cleanliness that is appreciated by visitors.
The location is generally well-regarded, with guests enjoying the proximity to local pubs and attractions. However, some noted the busy main road and difficulty with parking, slightly impacting the score.
Guests frequently mention comfortable beds and a cosy atmosphere, contributing to a positive experience. However, there are comments about the need for a new mattress in the master bedroom and issues with a bedroom being too bright, which suggests room for improvement in comfort.
Facilities like the hot tub and log burner are highlights, but there are several mentions of maintenance issues such as leaks and plumbing problems. These concerns affect the overall score for facilities and maintenance.
While guests appreciate the overall experience, there is no consistent mention of gifts or special touches that would fall under the category of thoughtfulness. Therefore, it is not possible to provide a score in this category.

Hot tub was great. Only down side was the lack of added extras. There were tea, coffee and sugar jars, with residue of existing tea and coffee. I assume this means they hadn't been topped up for our stay. Seems minor, but when going away for only 2 nights we didn't think to bring it with us as everywhere we have stayed previous has provided tea, coffee etc. We had a lovely stay, it just felt we paid for the building, nothing more, nothing less. We are used to a little welcome pack? A little milk in the fridge? Maybe some shower soap facilities? Unfortunately, we feel we got the bare minimum. Apart from that the cottage was nice and cosy.
