Guests say

Guests generally appreciate the Wren cottage for its peaceful setting, convenient location, and friendly owners. The property is praised for its cleanliness and as a cosy retreat with a log burner and private garden. It is well-situated for exploring the North York Moors, Scarborough, and Whitby, with easy access to walking and cycling routes. Some guests mention minor issues with Wi-Fi, shower size, and lounge lighting, but these do not detract significantly from the overall positive experience.

The cottage is consistently described as clean, with specific mentions of spotlessness. However, there was an isolated incident with wasps that affected the perceived cleanliness for one guest.

The location is highly praised for its quiet surroundings, beautiful views, and proximity to walking tracks and local attractions. It is deemed perfect for exploring the coast and countryside.

Most guests found the cottage comfortable, particularly noting the bed and log burner. However, some guests mentioned issues with the settee, dining chairs, and space around the bed, suggesting room for improvement in comfort.

Facilities are generally well-regarded, with mentions of a well-equipped cottage and thoughtful touches. However, there are several comments about Wi-Fi issues, a small shower, and maintenance concerns like a leaky shower and log burner, which lower the score.

Guests appreciate the welcoming hosts and thoughtful touches like milk and biscuits. While such gifts are mentioned positively, it is noted that these are not guaranteed and may vary.

when told the owner, he did not seem bothered about it. no safety certificate was to be seen. the bathroom needs some tlc loose panels on shower base . we had to cut our stay short because of rain water coming through the bedroom ceiling soaking clothes underneath . also rainwater was coming through the safety light . we were only given £70 as compensation for cutting our trip short and having soaking wet clothes with no ware to dry them . We were offered to move to another property on site but would have to wait two hours or so for it to be cleaned which would take up half a day in total after reporting the problems .

The narrow walk between the bed and the wall is unsubscribe even able bodied people, the rest of cottage was well equipped and very clean.

Convinient for places around. The one problem I had is I a disabled, I struggle to walk with ease, and the steps in the house were a problem for me. Also squeesing around the bed was hard for me.
