A charming, stone-built end-terrace cottage, in Glaisdale village, in the heart of the North York Moors National Park. Set in an elevated position, with lovely views over hills and woodland, this traditional cottage provides a comfortable holiday home for a family or friends wishing to explore the superb surrounding countryside, but be within a few minutes’ drive of the seaside town of Whitby. Inside the cottage there is a warm and welcoming sitting room, with beamed ceilings and a cosy woodburning stove, where you can relax with a refreshing drink after a busy day in this lovely part of the country. There is a galley kitchen, whilst cottage stairs lead up to the two pretty bedrooms and family bathroom. Outside, there is a small, sheltered walled patio, perfect for enjoying a morning coffee whilst taking in the lovely views. A couple of minutes’ walk brings you to the friendly, local village pub, serving real ales and good food, whilst the village shop and renowned butcher lie half a mile away towards the other end of the village. Glaisdale is in a wonderful location, with the River Esk meandering through it and with an excellent network of public footpaths, including the Coast to Coast, which passes the door of the cottage. There is a tiny railway station, with four trains a day passing through to Whitby, enabling guests to leave their car behind and spend a day discovering this historic port, with its famous Abbey and glorious, sandy beaches. Wander around the cobbled market square and quirky, narrow lanes, partake in tea and cakes in one of the many tea rooms, or take an exhilarating cliff top walk. With many attractions to visit, including the steam railway at Grosmont and the nearby Danby Moors Centre, this cottage provides a good base for an interesting and varied holiday.

Location perfect, cottage perfect, in all ways. Well kitted out, comfortable, fabulous back area (a peaceful sun trap) the owners seem like they love it as much as we did.

Generally a nice little cottage, took a little time to get to grips with the TV as it was/is slow in responding to the remote control, may be because we have sky TV at home I thought the channel selection was very limited and had to resort to the DVD's to watch some thing, we purchased a couple of dvd's from a charity shop and left them for other guests to watch as we wasn't impressed with the selection, liked the cottage
