It was exceptionally well equipped, warm and welcoming, a real home away from home. The flowers were a sweet touch, as was the welcome pack of basics. We did meet a member of the housekeeping team and she was really friendly. We found the bed really comfortable (we do like ours quite firm) and the powerful walk in shower with its rainwater head was brilliant. It was lovely having the view of Whitby Abbey from the bedroom window. Having a secure parking space was a real bonus and the apartments are only a short walk into the heart of Whitby. Close to Whitby Station trains were far from being a disturbance, and we eagerly looked forward to the arrival of the vintage steam (and diesel) trains, stopping almost opposite our windows - precisely why we had chosen The Engine Shed for our stay. We would strongly recommend these apartments and will look forward to returning ourselves.

On arrival a plate and frying pan was not cleaned properly and was still greasy. We felt the welcome pack needs to be friendlier, and whilst we appreciate the owners may have had some negative comments about the original windows in the past, we felt the tone needed to be alot friendlier. Overall a wonderful stay so thank you!

Good to have spacious undercover secure garage with EV chargers if needed. We had no reason to contact maintenance so cant comment on this. 300metres walk to supermarket, trains, bus terminal, pizza/ indian takeaway, restaurants,bars, cafes ,shops on a flat road.. lovely beaches and harbour. Will be back.
