A minute's walk through the cobbled, narrow streets brings you to inns, tea rooms and gift shops, whilst the beach, with its rock pools and coves, is a delight for both young and old. Part of the charm of Robin Hood’s Bay is the chance to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life, no cars are allowed into the village, visitors leave their cars on the cliff top and walk down the hill to enjoy a village untouched by time, at the top of the village, the Cleveland Way cliff-top walking trail offers spectacular views, while The Cinder Track disused railway runs for 23 miles and can be enjoyed by cyclists, walkers and horse riders. Head south to Ravenscar and take a stroll down the cliff to the beach, where you’ll find a colony of seals, or head north to Whitby where you can enjoy the Gothic Whitby Abbey ruins, fresh fish and chips, traditional arcades, Whitby Museum and much more. In Scarborough, just a 30-minute drive away, there’s an abundance of things to do. Alpamare water park and the SEA LIFE centre are not to be missed. Situated between Scarborough and Whitby, this charming old fishing village is to be found nestling at the edge of a wide sweeping bay backed by spectacular cliffs and dramatic moorland scenery, and was once home to author Leo Walmsley. All holidaymakers will love the beach and its cliff-top walks, whilst more serious walkers will enjoy the many long distance trails that pass through the Cleveland Way, the Lyke Wake Walk and the Coast to Coast walks which all take in Robin Hood’s Bay.
