Seawinds is a highly praised cottage in Whitby, renowned for its cleanliness, peaceful and picturesque location, and comfortable amenities. Guests consistently commend the well-equipped facilities, beautiful garden, and stunning views. The property is ideal for family stays and serves as a perfect base to explore the coast and countryside.
Reviewers frequently mention the immaculate condition of Seawinds, highlighting its spotlessness and well-maintained appearance, indicating a very high standard of cleanliness.
The cottage's location is celebrated for its tranquility, rural charm, and proximity to local attractions like Robin Hood's Bay and Whitby. The scenic views and peaceful setting are particularly appreciated.
Comfort is a standout feature, with guests noting the cosy atmosphere, comfortable beds, and spaciousness. The conservatory and garden add to the overall comfort, making it a relaxing retreat.
Facilities are highly regarded, with mentions of a well-equipped kitchen, good WiFi, and a washer dryer. However, some guests noted the absence of a dishwasher and suggested improvements like a welcome pack for local activities.
While guests express gratitude for the welcome pack and the property's overall provision, there is insufficient information to determine if gifts are a consistent offering, and thus, cannot guarantee their presence for future guests.
An idyllic spot overlooking open countryside and with long distance views of the sea and Ravenscar, this charming house has an enclosed garden, private parking and is just a five minute drive to the village of Robin Hood's Bay.
From the inner hallway, there is a formal dining room with table and chairs to comfortably sit six people.
The kitchen is equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, washing machine/dryer and breakfast bar.
There is a lovely sitting room, with a wood burning stove, TV and DVD player, with comfortable seating to sit back and relax.
There is a smart ground floor double bedroom with views over the garden and also a ground floor bathroom with bath and shower attachment, separate shower cubicle, WC and hand wash basin.
The good size conservatory overlooks the garden and is light and airy with comfortable seating to sit and relax or read.
The enclosed garden is very pretty with a lawn, terrace – a perfect place to take your glass of wine before dinner and sit and enjoy the sunset – and well-stocked borders, with views over open fields and across to woodland.
On the first floor there are two more bedrooms – a superb, large master bedroom with a king size bed – plus a cot bed is available for a small child – this charming bedroom has long-distance views over the gardens and countryside and across to the sea and Ravenscar.
There is also a smart twin bedroom that has two full size 3′ single beds (which are zip and link and can be made into a 6′ bed if required), again with wonderful views. A convenient WC with hand wash basin is also located on this floor.
To the outside at the front are well-stocked borders with shrubs; to the rear are pretty, enclosed gardens with a terrace to sit and enjoy drinks outside and take in the spectacular views.
Robin Hood's Bay, with its narrow cobbled streets and quaint cottages, is one of the most picturesque villages on the English coastline. Situated between Scarborough and Whitby, this charming old fishing village is to be found nestling at the edge of a wide sweeping bay backed by spectacular cliffs and dramatic moorland scenery, and was once home to author Leo Walmsley. All holidaymakers will love the beach and its cliff-top walks, whilst more serious walkers will enjoy the many long distance trails that pass through the Cleveland Way, the Lyke Wake Walk and the Coast to Coast walks which all take in Robin Hood’s Bay. The village amenities are superb, with charming alleyways to explore and plenty of places to rest, relax and take refreshment. A perfect base for enjoying the Yorkshire Coast.

I have stayed in 2 Sykes properties over the summer and both have been a very high standard. I will be disappointed if future bookings don't match up
