Guests have enjoyed their stays at Tuksumduin, praising its fabulous views, comfortable beds, and prime location close to local amenities. The upside-down layout is appreciated, and the property is noted for its suitability for those with mobility issues. Some minor maintenance issues and suggestions for improvements have been mentioned, but these do not detract from the overall positive experiences.
The property was generally found to be clean and tidy, though there were isolated comments about floors and kitchen items that could have been cleaner. This suggests good but not impeccable standards.
The location is highly praised for its quietness, beautiful views, and proximity to shops, restaurants, and the harbour, making it an ideal spot for guests.
The beds are very comfortable, and the property is well-suited for guests with mobility issues. However, some guests found the mattress soft and suggested additional safety features for the bath.
Facilities are generally good, with everything needed for a stay. However, maintenance issues like a broken toilet seat, door lock problems, and inadequate shower power have been noted.
While guests have appreciated touches like the telescope, there is no mention of gifts, so it is not possible to assess thoughtfulness in terms of gifts provided.

It is lovely cottage in a perfect location. Quiet with a beautiful view, yet close to shops, restaurants and the harbour. There's everything you need for a good stay and, although there is no onsite parking, there is a drop off area close enough so that you're not having to carry luggage any great distance. Small negatives - the shower is over the bath - something to hold onto when climbing out might help us "older" folk with short legs feel a little safer. A light on the corner of the outside passage - it's very dark, we used our phone torches to navigate our way to the front door. The mattress is a bit soft, but that's a personal preference. These points wouldn't put us off staying again and we will be back

But, could have been a bit cleaner - floors always seem to be a bit of a letdown on holiday. And there were kitchen trays out on the worktop that were dirty. The areas around the two security gates really need some lighting. And we did have problems locking & unlocking the front door. And finally the shower power was not great at all. Overall a pleasant stay. Great week in Whitby & excellent weather!

It was in a good location and easy for us to get to the venues we wanted to visit. It would have been nice to have a phone number of the owners because I would have liked the parking scratch cards to have been explained. I only had a phone number for Booking.com, and was given the wrong information regarding the parking. It is a lovely cottage and we were very pleased with it.
