Guests appreciate the property's excellent location, within walking distance to York's city centre and its array of dining options. The inclusion of parking is a notable plus. While the property's cleanliness is generally satisfactory, some guests have highlighted areas for improvement. Comfort is adequate for smaller groups, though seating may be limited for larger parties. The property would benefit from attention to maintenance, with several reports of worn furnishings and appliances in need of repair. No mention of gifts was made, so thoughtfulness could not be assessed.
The property's cleanliness is generally acceptable, with some guests noting a good standard. However, there are remarks about worn carpets and the need for a deeper clean in certain areas, suggesting room for improvement.
The location is highly praised for its proximity to the city centre and dining options, with the added benefit of parking, making it an ideal base for exploring York.
Comfort is deemed adequate, particularly for smaller groups. However, limited seating and issues with mattresses have been noted, indicating that comfort could be enhanced for a more relaxing stay.
Facilities and maintenance require attention, with reports of malfunctioning appliances, worn furniture, and the need for refurbishment. These issues detract from the overall experience.

Sitting just outside the historic city walls of York, is this splendid, duplex apartment, 42 Tannery Mews. Presented to a wonderful standard, this charming retreat is perfect for families or two couples looking to experience the delights of this city. The first floor is home to the open-plan living space, furnished with all the mods and cons required for a short break, including an electric oven and gas hob, microwave, fridge and even a dishwasher, so you won’t have to lift a finger when washing up! Serve the fruits of your labour at the glass dining table, toasting a long-awaited break in the city of York. As you look to unwind, settle down on the sofa and curl up in front of the TV, catching up on your favourite shows. The bedrooms are positioned on the second floor, offering two doubles, one with en-suite shower, while there is a gleaming bathroom to service the other. When you’re ready to explore, York is a bustling city with plenty to see and do; head to the magnificent Gothic York Minster of which you can tour the towers, or visit the remarkable National Trust site of the Treasurer’s House which is filled with interesting 17th and 18th century items, plus there are many wonderful museums including York Castle Museum and the National Railway Museum, a must for any train enthusiasts. Get your retail fix as you explore a charming selection of shops ranging from high street names to boutiques, before finding a recommended restaurant for a tasty lunch. The city walls are close to the apartment and offer a lovely route around the city, or enjoy riverside walks before stopping for a pint in the welcoming Yorkshire pub or bar. For a slightly different perspective of the city, embark on a gentle cruise along the River Ouse, perfect for a leisurely afternoon. Further scenery can be sampled at the Howardian Hills AONB while the coastal delights of Scarborough, Whitby and Filey are worth a visit too. There’s plenty to enjoy while holidaying at 42 Tannery Mews.
The city of York needs no recommendation, for it teems with interest for the holidaymaker: the Minster, its medieval walls, boat trips on the River Ouse, York Races, museums(including the famous National Railway Museum and the Castle Museum), and the internationally-renowned Jorvik Viking Centre and its "time trip" experience. Summer and winter, there is something to fascinate the whole family. Explore York’s quaint streets and hidden corners, or take an excursion further afield to the Dales, Moors or the coastal resorts of Scarborough, Whitby and Filey. Yorkshire is rich in stately homes, with Harewood House and Castle Howard just two of several within an hour’s drive. A cycling city boasting two theatres, character pubs and great shopping, York has it all.
