Mary Larkin's Cottage is praised for its stunning views, peacefulness, and wildlife, offering a tranquil retreat. Guests appreciate the cosy atmosphere, comfortable bed, and the cottage's cleanliness. The remote location adds to the charm, though the access road's condition is noted. The property is well-situated for exploring the Mourne area, with some guests mentioning a thoughtful welcome basket.
The cottage receives high marks for cleanliness, with several reviews noting it as well-kept and one of the cleanest cottages ever stayed in. However, a few mentions of specific cleanliness issues slightly affect the score.
The location is highly praised for its stunning views and tranquillity, ideal for a peaceful getaway. However, the challenging access road and lack of mobile signal are recurring concerns, impacting the score.
Comfort is generally well-regarded, with positive comments about the comfortable bed and cosy interior. Some negative feedback about the bathroom's temperature and the living room setup slightly lowers the score.
Facilities are adequate with mentions of a well-equipped kitchen and the inclusion of an airfryer. However, issues with water quality, Wi-Fi, and maintenance concerns such as the shower door and road condition affect the score.
While some guests mention a welcome basket, there are not enough references to consistently assess the level of thoughtfulness across all stays. Therefore, it cannot be guaranteed and the score is set to null.

. itâs clean, comfortable, functional and cozy and the road too it is easy enough⦠an Irish laneway that is sealed all but the last 200m which is graded and easy enough for any car. No mobile reception, and if youâre lucky like me, youâll might just see the Northern lights. Iâve booked another 3 weeks there as well.

Itâs very well equipped and very comfortable. It is surrounded by beautiful countryside and is ideally located for exploring the Mourne area. Eamonn was there to greet me and to show me round the cottage. He was very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed my stay there and hope to go again next year.

This added to the feelings of seclusion and peacefulness. Bed was enormous, clean and comfortable. This would be a five star property if it had a deep clean and some regular maintenance. Particularly on the drainage from the sinks and shower. Overall, if you want something remote and peaceful this ticks all the boxes.
