Rottal Farmhouse is highly praised for its stunning location, cosy atmosphere, and comfortable furnishings. Guests appreciate the warm welcome, including thoughtful touches like welcome packs and the continuous warmth from the Aga. The property's remote setting offers peace and tranquillity, with beautiful walks and scenery right on the doorstep. While some minor issues with cleanliness and maintenance are noted, the overall experience is one of relaxation and enjoyment in a characterful and well-equipped farmhouse.
Most guests found the farmhouse to be clean and comfortable. However, there were a few reports of cleanliness issues, such as cobwebs, dead insects, and a lack of readiness upon arrival. These instances seem to be exceptions rather than the rule, but they do impact the overall perception of cleanliness.
The location is consistently lauded for its privacy, peacefulness, and stunning surrounding countryside. Guests enjoy the proximity to nature, with easy access to walks and scenic views. The remote aspect is seen as a positive feature, contributing to the tranquil experience.
Guests frequently mention the comfort of the beds and the cosy warmth provided by the Aga and log burners. The spaciousness of the rooms and the enclosed garden add to the comfort level. Some guests noted issues with pillows and mattresses, but these are relatively isolated comments.
The farmhouse is well-equipped, with a particularly well-received kitchen. Some guests mentioned a lack of certain utensils and issues with the showers, suggesting room for improvement in facilities and maintenance. However, the overall sentiment is that the property provides the necessary amenities for a pleasant stay.
While many guests mention receiving welcome packs and treats, as these gifts are not consistently referenced across all reviews, it cannot be guaranteed that such thoughtfulness is a standard practice for every stay. Therefore, a score cannot be accurately provided.

Very cosy and clean with everything we needed. We had a lovely family Christmas there with a beautiful tree and decorations provided by the owner. The surrounding countryside which we already knew well is absolutely stunning. We would recommend this property to anyone wishing to experience the best of Scottish hospitality.

Spacious for four couples but had an intimacy as well. Fantastically well converted still with a farmhouse feel. Old doors and Bakelite handles

A wonderful basket of treats and a bunch of flowers welcomed us to the property. The house was always cosy thanks to the continuously running Aga, which was great for cooking too. The beds were so comfy that I am planning to buy the same for my home. Location is private and peaceful with many walks with the dog on the doorstep. Local makers market was a surprise bonus. Recommend the cottage for all.
